What is the gov't doing about this oil mess?

I live close to cocoa beach, they have just discovered tar balls here. When is this mess going to get resolved?

Really?  I still thought it was only up near the Panhandle still.  I actually saw on the news though where there are boats that have signed up to do work and help clean up but they havent been called to help yet.  Some of these boats are getting 1k a day and they are just sitting there.
